Unbeaten WBC/WBO #1 rated super welterweight Alfredo Angulo (15-0, 12 KOs) continued his reign of terror in the 154lb division but it wasn’t easy as late sub and former IBF #1 rated welterweight Cosme Rivera (31-12-2, 23 KOs) caused some anxious moments. Angulo was cut over the right eye in round one and it was ruled that the cut was caused by a punch. Angulo, however, came on strong and punished Rivera thereafter. The bout was finally stopped by referee Telis Assimenios at 2:38 of round five, even though Rivera was still punching.
