Bob Montgomery is an American boxer from Philadelphia. He was born in South Carolina.

Montgomery, was an exceptionally quick-fisted lightweight who fought many great matches with Beau Jack, Ike Williams and others; He turned professional in 1938; Bob won recognition by New York state as Lightweight Champion of the World after beating Beau Jack in May 1943, but lost it in a rematch in November of that year

He went undefeated in his first 23 fights going 22-0-1 winning the Pennsylvania State Lightweight Title.

Montgomery beat Julie Kogon two times once in Brooklyn by decision, and again in Chicago Coliseum by decision.

He lost to Sammy Angott by split decision at Shibe Park.

In 1942 Montgomery had two battles with Maxxie Shapiro. In the first fight he  lost by decision in Philadelphia. The second fight he  won by unanimous decision in Philadelphia.

Montgomery also beat Petey Scalzo by TKO in Philadelphia.

He lost to Al Bummy Davis at Madison Square Garden by KO.

Bob Montgomery was also a promoter at the end of his career.
