Ready to do battle for the
hometown crowd
July 9, 2009
They say
life is not measured by the breaths you take, but by the moments that take
your breath away. Let me tell you, if that is the truth, I have had a pretty
dang spectacular life, full of moments that took my breath away. (You know
how many times I have been hit in the stomach and had the breath knocked out
of me?)
On a serious note, I am preparing to
fight, at long last, in my home area -- St. Joseph, Mo. -- on July 17th in
what is being called the main event for the night. The night consists of
nine boxing matches and five MMA fights. I encourage all my friends and
family to get your tickets ahead of time because the arena will sell out. It
holds just under a 1,000 people and it has been over a year since I last
fought in this area. I appreciate everyone who has already bought a ticket,
and appreciate all the continued support. Contact me, or respond to the
event page on Facebook, and we will get you taken care of, but hurry before
we sell out.
It has been a
while since I recorded a win, and what better way to get back on track, but
in front of all my friends and supporters? I am boxing a very tough and
durable guy and will need all the training and support from all of you to
finally get back to winning. This is a must-win fight for me. I always write
about fighting all these undefeated guys -- opponents I usually fight on the
road -- so this is my time to put up or shut up. If you want to see me get
my butt kicked, or you want to see a damn action-packed fight, with two
professional boxing warriors going to battle in that squared circle. and me
capturing a much-needed win, get your ticket now. This is no hype, the place
will sell out ahead of time.
I am extremely
excited and nervous at the same time. To me, it is about winning and losing,
contrary to what most think. I not only want a win Friday night, I need a
win more than anything. I feel like I am backed into a corner. It is all on
me to react like a true champion, come out swinging, and take care of
business. I sit here tonight with aches and pains, but very determined to
make all my friends and family proud to attend my boxing match. I promise
you that it will be a great, straight-forward, action-packed match. I will
dig down deeper than ever in able to pull out this victory. I have the
passion and talent to make this happen.
Enough talk. Come out Friday if you want to see me in a fan friendly
boxing match. I am ready to do battle.
