A eulogy for VernoN

The sport of boxing attracts a lot of good and genuine people, and Vernon Forrest was no exception. He was amongst the sport's brightest spirits. He was a philanthropic hero who thrilled us with his athletic abilities and, more importantly, exemplified human success outside of it. He was two artists in one: the fervent boxer, and the impassioned humanitarian.

His passing has affected me more than warranted, and I need to know why. Perhaps it is the memory of seeing him hug autistic children after defeating an unmemorable opponent. Or could it be that reading further about his charitable exploits has touched me deeply.

In any case, Vernon will not be the first or last to ascend outside of the ring. But his truer presence in life eclipsed the glitz and glamour of the limelight. I can only hope in his death there will not remain a sense of loss, but that of human triumph.

Moneyweather talks ... disinformation walks

The terms miss and disinformation are just postmodern and fancy ways of saying bullshit, folks! And there's a whole lot of disinformation going on about why there may -- or may not -- be an eventual Pac/May match.

Don't be dismayed. The agents of pros and cons are unknowingly serving to build the hype necessary to make May/Pac the biggest payday in the history of the sport. Let's face it, boxing is a business and the bottom line is money. They don't call Floyd “Moneyweather’ for no reason. By putting off Pacquiao, and fighting opponents he knows he can beat, Floyd builds time,  public pressure and the hype necessary to override egos and animosity with Team Arum.

They say he's afraid of Pacquiao , but I say his greed will outweigh his fear. They talk about phony retirements, dodging and ducks. But I say this only serves to create momentum, not to mention the probable Pac/May II or even III.

Not even his fear could turn down a payday like that. After all, Moneyweather talks … and disinformation (Bullshit) walks!
