Max Baer Sr. was romantically linked with innumerable starlets, socialites, chorus girls and Broadway actresses before marrying in 1935 ... Notorious playboy Oscar "Ringo" Bonavena, an Argentinian heavyweight who fought Muhammad Ali, Joe Frazier and George Chuvalo, was shot and killed outside the "Moonlight Bunny Ranch," a legal brothel in Reno. His killer was jealous that Bonavena was seeing his girlfriend, a prostitute at the brothel ... Hall of Famer Alexis Arguello lost his pro debut by a first-round knockout ... The start of the fight was delayed for several minutes while Earp was pursuaded to remove his gunbelt ... Art Aragon was a colorful boxer who dated Marilyn Monroe, Jayne Mansfield, Mamie Van Doren and Sofia Loren. But he was unpopular with Mexican fans, who booed him every time he stepped into the ring. At his funeral in March of 2008, Aragon was booed -- this time out of respect -- as his casket was lowered into the ground ...

I fixed it with a right hand" -- George Foreman ... "Attack is only one-half the art of boxing" -- Georges Carpentier ... "It's like someone jammed an electric lightbulb in your face and busted it.
