Prescott wins bite fight!

Undefeated WBO #7 lightweight contender Breidis Prescott (21-0, 18 KOs) won by DQ after being bit on the shoulder in round ten by Humberto Toledo (34-6-2, 20 KOs) on Friday night at the University Center Arena on the Nova Southeastern Campus in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Prescott was credited with a knockdown in round seven and appeared on his way to an easy decision until Toledo gnawed on his left shoulder at 1:58 of the tenth. Prescott is best known for knocking out highly touted Amir Kahn in 54 seconds last year.

Heavyweight Ramon Garbey (19-4, 13 KOs), a former prospect returning from a two-year layoff, scored four-round unanimous decision over journeyman Mike Shepard (11-9-1, 6 KOs). Garbey dropped Shepard in rounds three and twice in four. Scores were 40-33 on all cards.

2004 Olympic gold medalist Yuriorkis “El Ciclon” Gamboa (14-0, 12 KOs) needed just 35 seconds to annihilate Walter Estrada (35-9, 24 KOs) in an featherweight fight. A right hand put southpaw Estrada on the deck for the count.
